UPDATE SITE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

There are two ways to install the tooling for Spring and Groovy/Grails into an existing Eclipse installation:

  1. Install via Eclipse Marketplace
  2. Probably the easiest way to get the Spring and/or the Groovy/Grails tooling installed into an existing
Eclipse installation is to use the Eclipse Marketplace Client. Open that Marketplace Client and search for
“Spring Tool Suite” or “Groovy/Grails Tool Suite” (“tool suite”, “sts”, and “ggts” also work nicely as search
    strings).

Choose the right item for your Eclipse platform, press “Install” and you are done.

  3. Install from the repositories
  4. You can also install the different components of the tooling manually into an existing Eclipse installation by
using the “Install New Software” menu in Eclipse and browsing to the repositories of the tool suites. They
are all served from the same repositories.

One you have browsed to that repository, you will see various categories and features. Please choose the
features that you would like to use.

If you are looking for Spring tooling, we would recommend installing:

    • Core / Spring IDE
    • Core / Eclipse Integration vFabric tc Server (for the tc Server integration)
    • Extensions / Spring IDE
    • Integrations / Spring IDE

If you are looking for Groovy/Grails tooling, we would recommend:

    • Core / Grails IDE
    • Core / Eclipse Integration vFabric tc Server (for the tc Server integration)

Groovy-Eclipse will be installed automatically by the Grails tools.

Note: Please do not choose the product features “Spring Tool Suite” or “Groovy/Grails Tool Suite” nor their
package features (called package at the end).

Note: Please don’t point your browser to those URLs. Those URLs point to repositories for our tool suites and
those URLs don’t serve a meaningful index web page. Browsing to them results in an “access denied”
message, which doesn’t mean that the update site is not available, but that there is no index page
    - which is correct.
