Josh Long provides an outstanding summary of some of the biggest events in the Spring universe in 2011: This Year in Spring. The highlights include the release of Spring 3.1, the introduction of Cloud Foundry, the delivery of Spring’s Big Data projects, development of tools for the Mobile and Next Generation Web applications and of course the biggest Spring event of the year: SpringOne 2GX. The summary is a great reminder of how much was accomplished by the Spring community in 2011, so 2012 should be another great year. |

Spring your Application to Cloud Foundry
Do you have a Spring app and want to deploy it to the cloud in a matter of minutes? Join Ramnivas Laddad, Senior Staff Engineer, to learn how to take a typical Spring web application, using a single data source, and deploy it directly to Cloud Foundry without having to make any code modifications. You will see how to use the command-line tool as well as IDE integration (STS), and we will also share a few goodies to help you interact with your deployed app.

Messaging for Modern Applications
Deploying modern applications in the cloud can introduce new challenges like distributing and integrating application components across private and public networks, using heterogeneous messaging systems, driving heavier workloads and horizontally scaling the messaging tier. Join Tom McCuch to learn how to overcome these challenges using proven enterprise integration patterns with AMQP based messaging, Spring Integration, and RabbitMQ.
