  SpringSource Tool Suite 2.8.0 Released
We are pleased to announce the new release of the SpringSource Tool Suite (STS), release 2.8.0. Highlights include: ships on top of Eclipse Indigo SR1; includes full IDE support for Java 7 (coming with the Eclipse 3.7.1 update); supports Spring 3.1 bean profiles and c-namespace; improved constructor-arg validation and quick-fixes. Read the New and Noteworthy document and installation instructions for more details. As always downloads are available from the STS download page.
Using Cloud Foundry from the SpringSource Tool Suite
The Cloud Foundry team has released a new milestone for the STS integration to make their new open platform as a service as easy to use as possible. This new video with demonstrations shows how to use Cloud Foundry from the SpringSource Tool Suite and from Ruby. Cloud Foundry is an open source "Platform as a Service" (PaaS) from VMware allowing easy deployment of cloud applications using Spring for Java developers, Rails and Sinatra for Ruby developers, Node.js and other JVM frameworks including Grails.
MicroCloud Foundry Supports RabbitMQ and PostgreSQL
Identical to the publicly hosted CloudFoundry.com, Micro Cloud Foundry has been updated to support RabbitMQ and PostgreSQL. This complete, local version of the popular, open source Platform as a Service, runs a full featured cloud on your Mac or PC. Get started by watching this screencast from Josh Long, and Grails developers will benefit from the step by step guide with Peter Ledbrook.
