Spring Roo 1.0.0.RC2 has just been released. Spring Roo provides interactive, lightweight, user customizable tooling that enables rapid delivery of high performance enterprise Java applications.
This new release features:
- Around 70 fixes and improvements as per the release notes
- MANY web tier improvements (Tiles, localization, themes, ETags etc)
- More intuitive, easy-to-learn command names (as per ROO-232)
- A new "backup" (to ZIP file with timestamp) command
- Using Maven from within the Roo shell ("perform" commands)
- Auto-creation of scaffolded controllers ("controller all" command)
- Support for automatically creating web controllers
- Import usage within ITDs (delivering a natural, hand-coded feel)
- Many-to-many support, including a new --cardinality shell option
- Support for specifying table, column and key names via the shell
- Enum type creation and constant declaration via the shell
- Support for static JPA methods on abstract classes
- "roo" startup scripts now can pass arguments to the Roo shell
- Spring Framework 3.0.0.RC1 compatibility
- Significant performance, statistical and polling improvements
