Spring Roo 1.0.0.RC2 Released

Spring Roo 1.0.0.RC2 has just been released. Spring Roo provides interactive, lightweight, user customizable tooling that enables rapid delivery of high performance enterprise Java applications.

This new release features:

• Around 70 fixes and improvements as per the release notes
• MANY web tier improvements (Tiles, localization, themes, ETags etc)
• More intuitive, easy-to-learn command names (as per ROO-232)
• A new "backup" (to ZIP file with timestamp) command
• Using Maven from within the Roo shell ("perform" commands)
• Auto-creation of scaffolded controllers ("controller all" command)
• Support for automatically creating web controllers
• Import usage within ITDs (delivering a natural, hand-coded feel)
• Many-to-many support, including a new --cardinality shell option
• Support for specifying table, column and key names via the shell
• Enum type creation and constant declaration via the shell
• Support for static JPA methods on abstract classes
• "roo" startup scripts now can pass arguments to the Roo shell
• Spring Framework 3.0.0.RC1 compatibility
• Significant performance, statistical and polling improvements
