Groovy-Eclipse and dm Server Grab Eclipse Community Awards

Overview of Spring 3.0 Web Stack
At today's EclipseCon 2010, two projects that have involved substantial work from SpringSource managed to snag a couple of Eclipse Community Awards which recognize the top individuals, projects and technologies in the Eclipse ecosystem.

  • Groovy-Eclipse Plugin grabbed the award for Best Open Source Developer Tool. This project provides Eclipse-based tooling for the Groovy programming language including syntax highlighting, auto-completion, refactoring and the ability to compile and run Groovy classes and scripts in the IDE.
  • SpringSource dm Server was recognized as being the Best EclipseRT Application. This project provides a completely module-based Java application server that is designed to run enterprise Java applications and Spring-powered applications with a high degree of flexibility and reliability. dm Server will be moving to Eclipse to become the Eclipse Virgo project.

Congratulations to all the technologists from the community that have contributed so much to these two great projects.
