The Spring Data project is designed to make it easier to build Spring-powered applications that use new data access technologies such as non-relational databases, map-reduce frameworks, and cloud based data services as well as provide improved support for relational database technologies. There are multiple sub projects for different technologies like MongoDB, Redis, Hadoop, as well as Graph Databases like Neo4J. Mark Pollack's recent webinar with Neo4J founder, Emil Eifrem has now been posted to the SpringSourceDev YouTube channel.
