Spring At Java University: @ Hilton San Francisco Union Square and Hotel Nikko San Francisco - Sunday 8am-3:30

Extensive and fast-paced hands-on University Sessions on Sunday, learn while you are at the conference. You can register for Java University for 800.00 USD only or attend with the conference. SpringSource will be offering full day course: Developing Enterprise Applications with the Spring Framework

Instructor: Chris Richardson

Course Level: Intermediate

Course Description:
The Spring Framework is a widely used full-stack Java technology–based application framework. The foundations of the Spring Framework are dependency injection (DI), aspect-oriented programming (AOP), and portable service abstractions (PSAs). Together, these foundational elements simplify application development and boost developer productivity.

This course covers a broad range of topics to give participants a clear understanding of the Spring Framework. You will learn about DI and how it promotes loose coupling and simplifies test-driven development (TDD). The course also describes AOP and how it simplifies application code by promoting modularity and separation of concerns. You will learn how PSAs, which provide extensive support for middle-tier functionality such as persistence, remoting, and messaging, dramatically reduce the amount of you need to write and improve application portability. This course describes the new features in Spring 3.1 and surveys the numerous other projects in the Spring ecosystem. By the end of the course, participants should be ready to apply Spring in their own applications.

  • The Spring Lightweight Container Architecture, Including Inversion of Control
  • Agile, Domain-Driven Design Techniques with Spring
  • Effective JDBC and Persistence Data Access
  • Declarative Transaction Management
  • Pragmatic AOP
  • Unit Testing in Isolation
  • Rapid System Integration Testing
  • Spring Support for JSR-250 Annotations
