Spring Gemfire Job
VMware is looking for a highly motivated, team player to work as
a software engineer on the Spring Data team working on the open
source Spring GemFire project. Gemfire is a cutting edge data
management product that transforms the way businesses operate. It
can be used as a high performance middle tier cache or a
distributed data store. The Spring GemFire project brings
Spring's ease of use and rich data abstractions to GemFire.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing Spring abstractions to GemFire.
- Participate in specification, design, implementation, QA
testing, evangelism and support of the product, as well as
improve existing features and product performance.
- Work on a small team (4-10) engineers on a daily basis, using
Agile engineering practices.
- Benchmark with other relational NoSQL products and identify
opportunities for optimization
- Integrate the product into data eco-systems including private
and public cloud infrastructures
- Work with technical writers and trainers.
Required Skills
- BS/MS Computer Science or equivalent, with coursework or
experience in distributdd systems.
- 4+ years Concurrent Java programming skills.
- Should have had extensive experience with Spring usage in
enterprise applications.
- Understanding of distributed computing
- Team player.
- Outstanding attitude and energy.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to master new technology and application domains (e.g.
financial, scientific, and industrial).
- Experience building Spring abstractions for a NoSQL product a
plus.
- Experience with API development strongly desired
- Keen understanding of state-of-the-art techniques and trends
in data management
